Our history
Dharma Treasure Monastery was founded in 2005 in Queens, New York. Today it serves a growing community of practitioners and is expanding into a larger home.
Our founder
A native of Mianyang, Sichuan, Venerable Master Faxin (法性法师) practiced and studied the Dharma for many years before founding the monastery in 2005. The Master leads the monastery’s chanting services, Dharma teachings and ceremonies.
Practice
The community practices and studies together, drawing on the Amitabha Sutra, the Lotus Sutra and the Shurangama Sutra. We combine traditional teachings with modern life through meditation, scripture study and communal practice.
